Bath’s twinning arrangement with Alkmaar is the oldest of its foreign twinning links, forming in 1947, and Bath Dolphin & DAW (De Alkmaarse Wateratten) have been two of the mainstays of that arrangement. The exchange with DAW has been in existence since 1948 and is the longest running exchange in England.
We are delighted that once again Bath Dolphin have been invited to visit our friends in Holland, Alkmaar DAW, in 2018 to help celebrate their 100th Anniversary.
The trip will take place over the Easter weekend, with the Alkmaar swimmers arriving in Bath on Thursday 18thApril 2019 and returningon Tuesday 23rd April 2019.
We’re looking for families to host two or more young swimmers from Alkmaar for the trip. They’ll be busy for most of the weekend with pre-organised activities, but they will need a base to return to and some food to keep them sustained! There will be a swimming gala and social event during their time over here which host families will be invited to.
